SYDNEY, NSW: Asko Appliances has launched two new dishwashers as part of its Classic Series, both of which were recognised in this year’s Red Dot Design Awards.

The award ceremony is held yearly in Germany and recognises outstanding achievements in design across a broad range of fields, from cameras and computers to household and kitchen products. This year’s awards saw a jury of experts judging over 4,500 products from 60 countries in the product design category alone.

As a part of the award, Asko’s Classic Series D5424 and D5434 New Generation Dishwashers were deemed outstanding by Red Dot judges, who praised their “clean Scandinavian design and admired the circular control panels which provide a sleek and ergonomic look,” according to an Asko spokesperson.

Asko boasts that the machine is “blissfully quiet”, with a maximum noise level of 50 decibels, and includes child-safe and anti-flooding technologies.

Building on the specs offered by the D5424, the top-of-the-range D5434 has a delayed start program and six-spray cleaning with a PowerZone boost function for cleaning tough pots and pans. It also features turbo drying to effectively and efficiently dry dishes.

The D5424 New Generation Dishwasher is available in white (D5424WH, RRP $1,149) and stainless steel (D5424SS, RRP $1,349). The D5434 is also available in white (D5434WH, RRP $1,299) and stainless steel (D5434SS, RRP $1,499).
