Officeworks is prioritising sustainability in NSW with the opening of its store at Eastern Creek in Sydney’s west.

The Eastern Creek store is the new greener home for the former Minchinbury store with an increased range of products and new sustainability features including rainwater harvesting to supply irrigation, landscaping, reducing water usage and solar panels that power the store with renewable energy.

The store also uses 100% LED lights and a recycling unit for customers to recycle unwanted or broken tech items, batteries, printer cartridges, pens and more.

Officeworks Eastern Creek store business manager, Paul Mackenzie said, “Our team is looking forward to connecting and building relationships with our local community and we are ready to help local western Sydney businesses start, run and grow as well as help make bigger things happen for local students, teachers, schools and the planet.

“At Officeworks, we offer so much more than just stationery. We will have over 16,600 products available in-store and offer expert advice and customer service, e-waste and recycling facilities.

“We are proud of the sustainability initiatives at our Eastern Creek store. Beyond the store initiatives, we want to provide our customers with the opportunity to make a positive difference when shopping with us, at Officeworks our customers can shop for a more sustainable range of greener choice products, and recycle their unwanted products.”

The relocated store joins 12 other stores servicing the growing western Sydney region, and will create 18 new local jobs in addition to the team members transferring from Minchinbury. The store stocks a range of technology, art supplies, furniture and education resources. It also offer services such as Print + Create and on-site tech support in Geeks2U.

To celebrate the store opening, Eastern Creek residents and surrounding communities are invited to visit the new store on Saturday 18 June from 10am to 2pm for a Community Fun Day which will feature a range of free activities including art workshops, giant Jenga, bowling, art and crafts, giveaways, complimentary coffee and more.
