New South Wales electrical retailers have started promoting the $150 water rebate for water efficient washing machine to consumers with large advertisements in Sydney newspapers.

Today, Harvey Norman’s Domayne stores purchased a full page advertisement in The Daily Telegraph to promote the savings on Electrolux, Maytag, Samsung and LG front load washing machines.

Domayne has matched the State Government’s cash incentive by offering a $300 rebate on the machines featured in the advertisement. The LG washing machines in the Domayne advertisement also qualify for an additional $150 Caltex StarCash fuel card.

Retravision published an advertisement on page 5 of the Sydney Morning Herald today promoting the $150 rebate on Samsung, Haier, Electrolux, NEC and Simpson branded products.

On the following right hand page of the Sydney Morning Herald, whitegoods retailer Kleenmaid published an advertisement promoting up to 25 per cent factory cashback on laundry appliances, but did not mention the water efficiency rebate implemented by the New South Wales State Government.

Kleenmaid managing director, Andrew Young, who was contacted this morning by www.current.com.au in Fiji, said he was aware of the rebate, but unaware of the publication of the advertisement.

“We have two front load washers which are 6kg and 6.5kg that will apply for the rebate. We are looking forward to the rebate as it will give everyone an opportunity,” he said.

The Kleemaid advertisement, which promoted Sydney-based stores including Alexandria, Auburn, Castle Hill, Chatswood, Drummoyne, Liverpool, Penrith and Taren Point, also mentions the Dee Why store which was closed last week.

Young has confirmed the Dee Why store has been relocated to a 400 square metre site on the corner of Warringah Road and Pittwater Road in Brookvale which is expected to be open in six to eight weeks.
