Wallabies sponsor and noted Skype fan Panasonic has launched a competition in conjunction with the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. The prize for this game of skill is very much on the attractive side: a video link chat with Australian players and a home entertainment pack valued at around $7,000.

Starting today and running through until 23 September 2011, the competition requires entrants to ‘Like’ the ‘Show Your Support’ application on Panasonic Australia’s Facebook page. Next up, entrants have to submit a 30-second video exemplifying their love for the Wallabies and their support of the team in New Zealand.

These videos will be available for viewing on Facebook, with the Wallabies (rugby players, not the marsupial) and members of the local Panasonic team then choosing a winner.

That winner will receive a Skype chat with members of the team during the World Cup, as well as a 50-inch Panasonic Viera TV, a Full HD Blu-ray home theatre system, a 16GB SD card, a Skype camera for their new TV and a signed Wallabies jersey.

There are also 35 daily prizes along the way, including a Wallabies cap, a scarf, a beanie, a Wallabies soft toy and a beach ball.

As with all competitions, there are stacks of terms and conditions, so head over to the Panasonic Australia Facebook page for more information.

The 2011 Rugby World Cup begins on 9 September 2011. Australia's first game is against Italy on 11 September 2011.
