The Australian Open 2009 is finally underway today and Canon has been named the official supplier of the event.

This means that Canon will supply all the office needs for the media and administration behind the scenes, such as printers, scanners, faxes and other printing and imaging devices.

“Canon’s reliability and expertise is hugely important to us in providing simple, efficient technology support so we can focus on running the best possible tournament,” stated Tennis Australia CEO, Steve Wood.

Canon will also be around to show off a large range of their goods to fans over the event. The Canon Interactive Experience booth, will allow fans to experiment with the latest digital cameras and printers, photographers can also print off their tennis snaps using PIXMA printers.

Canon PowerShot cameras are also being given away every day as a part of competitions around the grounds.

The Australian Open series attracts over 500 professional tennis players and around 1500 international and domestic media, the event is definitely a great platform for Canon to showcase itself to the world.
