LG's first UD TV sale will be processed tomorrow, Friday 30 November 2012, by Gerry Harvey at Harvey Norman Caringbah, in Sydney's south. The first sale is expected to be transacted at around 11am – Current.com.au understands a buyer has alread been lined up.

At the launch of this TV, officially named the LG 84-inch Ultra Definition TV (84LM9600), LG marketing general manager Lambro Skropidis said only around 30 retailers would be selling this super-premium panel – RRP $15,999 – Harvey Norman Caringbah and Moore Park are two. Current.com.au expects to be able to reveal the full list tomorrow.

"Tomorrow, LG’s world first 84-inch Ultra High Definition (HD) TV will go on sale in Australia, providing Australians with the world’s best and most advanced picture quality available in home entertainment, just in time for Christmas," said an LG spokesperson.

"Harvey Norman executive chairman, Gerry Harvey, will be personally making the first sale at his store in Caringbah, congratulating the first Australian customer to purchase an Ultra HD TV.

"Ultra HD is the newest standard in picture display and brings a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, which is four times the definition of existing full HD TVs when viewing Ultra HD content."
