SYDNEY, NSW: The supplier of Mistral, Rank Arena, Homemaker and Signature clothes dryers has issued a nationwide recall after a design defect affecting certain models has been deemed a ‘life threatening’ hazard.

The dryers in question, supplied by Link Technology, were distributed at Kmart, Big W and Signature retail stores from 1 March 2005 to 30 June 2007 nationally.

The door switch on the affected models has a design defect that may cause it to overheat during operation resulting in the door switch catching fire and causing property damage and possible loss of life, according to the recall notice issued by Link Technology.
