Miele has launched the new full surface KM 78972 induction cooktop featuring a robust DiamondFinish coating for easy cleaning and ensuring the appliance looks new for longer.

The DiamondFinish ceramic glass coating reduces scratches when wipe protection is activated, resulting in 70% fewer scratches caused by abrasive sponges, following intense SCHOTT resistance laboratory tests.

With a width of 936mm and full-surface induction space, this model brings maximum flexibility with intelligent pan recognition for up to six pans at a time. Set power levels and times quickly and easily with the SmartSelect White extra high-contrast display.

With the Stop & Go function all cooking zones can be reduced to power level one at the press of a button, if home cooks need to leave the cooktop unattended for a short time. The Keep Warm function keeps food at serving temperature.

Miele’s exclusive TwinBooster function concentrates the power of two cooking zones into a single cooking zone if required. Alternatively, induction power can be distributed individually for more flexible cooking.

With Con@ctivity, the rangehood automatically responds as soon as the cooktop is switched on or off. The extraction power is adjusted according to what’s on the cooktop.

The system lock provides protection against accidental or unauthorised switching on. If a cooking zone has been operating at the same power level for an unusually long time or there is no pan on the cooktop, it will switch off automatically. The residual heat indicator is another useful feature that reminds users not to touch the cooking zones when they are still hot.

In a statement shared with Appliance Retailer, Miele Australia category marketing manager, Kamal Watson said: “Our new induction cooktop features an extremely robust ceramic surface. The DiamondFinish coating reduces scratches* and makes cleaning even simpler when the Wipe Protection functionality is activated.

“The new and improved model is the perfect addition to our broad range of induction cooktops, catering to every cooking preference. We understand that our customers demand improved resistance and surface protection, especially for those who entertain frequently or lead busy lifestyles.

“At Miele, we are constantly seeking ways to elevate our offerings, and we are confident that the DiamondFinish induction cooktop will deliver a more premium and sophisticated cooking experience. We are excited to introduce it to our customers and see the positive impact it will have on their daily lives.”

Miele’s KM 78972 Diamond induction cooktop is available in a frameless black design for a flush-fit or surface-mounted installation for RRP $8,049 at Miele Experience Centres and authorised Miele retailers.
