Australian electronics retailers are amongst the biggest TV advertisers in the country, with Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi and Bing Lee all yelling at us to Go, Smash and Negotiate.

Over in the UK, the leading high street stores have just kicked off their annual Christmas campaign, and the competition to make the best ad is just as fierce as the one to make the most sales.

Our favourite so far is department store John Lewis, which updated a classic Smiths song to showcase what it most desperately wants this year.
