LG Electronics Australia has unveiled its 2020 soundbar range consisting of nine models to complement its OLED, NanoCell and UHD TVs by delivering premium quality audio, seamless connectivity and smart functionality.
LG has continued its long-standing relationship with Meridian, the UK-based pioneers of high-fidelity audio, with the integration of Meridian Audio technology in more soundbar models this year. The line-up also supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
The hero of the soundbar line-up, the LG SN11RG (RRP $1,899), delivers 770 watts of power and supports a 7.1.4-channel system including Meridian Audio and Dolby Atmos. Complete with two rear wireless up firing speakers, multi-dimensional sound is produced. This model also features 4K Pass-Through allowing a smooth transfer of 4K content from the screen through to the soundbar. With Google Assistant built-in, users can enjoy voice-controlled access to control compatible smart home devices, get answers, play content and make everyday tasks easier.

Sitting just below the SN11RG are the LG SN10YG and SN9YG (RRP $1,599 and $1,399 respectively) which boast 570 watts and 520 watts of output respectively and 5.1.2 channel support. To enhance the sound even further, users can add rear speakers for an extra two channels and 140 watts. Both models feature 4K Pass-Through, enhanced audio return (eARC) and Google Assistant.
The SL11RG, SN10YG, SN9YG and SN8YG (RRP $1,049) are enhanced with AI Room Calibration for the first time. After Wi-Fi setup using Google Home, the LG Wi-Fi Speaker app enables customers to use their smartphone microphone to listen to specialised test tones produced by the soundbar. The soundbar will adjust the equaliser for optimum sound from the TV by using the Google Home and LG Wi-Fi Speaker apps to calculate the ideal sound based on the characteristics of the room.
