LG will release wireless earbuds with an industry-first UVnano case that kills 99.9% of bacteria after 10 minutes of charging thanks to its built-in ultraviolet light and medical-grade silicone ear gel.

Featuring Meridian Audio technology, the LG Tone FN6 deliver an immersive audio experience through three-dimensional sound with Headphone Spatial Processing (HSP) technology via Digital Signal Processing (DSP) that provides control over the audio signal.

When paired with the LG Tone app, users can choose from four Meridian QE pre-sets – Natural, Immersive, Bass Boost and Treble Boost – and two customised EQ sound settings, as well as locate lost earbuds through the ‘Find My Earbuds’ feature.

Featuring Echo Cancellation and Passive Noise Cancellation, the close in-ear fit provides a seal to block out surrounding noise while dual microphones work simultaneously to detect and minimise unwanted noise. The microphone positioned at the end of the stem picks up and amplifies vocals, while Ambient Sound Mode allows users to hear their surroundings with a press on the side of the earbuds.

Rated IPX4, the LG Tone earbuds are splash proof and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity provides a hands-free solution for listening to music or taking and making calls. With Google Assistant and Siri, voice commands can be made through a connected smartphone to play, pause, skip and control the volume level without a phone, tablet or compatible LG TV remote.

LG Tone FN6 earbuds and charging case deliver up to 18 hours of listening. This includes up to six hours of playtime without the need to recharge in the case and the charging case provides up to 12 hours of listening, before needing to recharge the case itself. With just five minutes of charging users can experience up to one hour of playback.

“We are proud to continue delivering a selection of innovative and premium audio products to our customers. The LG Tone earbuds are an exciting new addition to the range and our ongoing partnership with Meridian truly helps users re-imagine how sound should be heard – whether that be high-res music, podcasts or movies,” LG Electronics Australia marketing manager for home entertainment, Tony Brown said.

The LG Tone Free FN6 wireless earbuds will be available in September for RRP $279.
