Leading Edge Group is continuing to see strong sales through its member groups, according to general manager, Charlie Davey.

“For our Leading Appliances members, whitegoods remain in high demand as supply flows through and we are predicting this to continue through the festive period,” he told Appliance Retailer.

“We expect the cooling sector to be unique this year – the stock available for the season could be snapped up quickly and replenishment slow – reflecting the supply chain challenges we have seen so we encourage our members to prepare early. In some parts of the country, we have already seen some early signs of a long hot summer.

“This is the first summer that many people will be working from home, so we predict a surge in cooling demands for the home and the bar fridge to become popular for Friday afternoons.”

Davey also expects small appliances to continue on a positive path leading into Christmas.

“We are all spending more time at home and demand for ‘extras’ remains strong, be it coffee machines, snack makers, microwaves or juicers.”

Televisions and the broader entertainment market is also performing well with certain panel sizes getting tight on availability.

“65-inch and above is becoming the new norm. With travel restrictions, many customers have focused their energy on upgrading their in-home entertainment activities. TVs with all the smart options and Freeview are a popular choice for consumers.”

Other divisions in the Leading Edge Group are also experiencing good growth with home office upgrades, strong interest and demand for vinyl and high-end audio equipment and a plethora of new book release publications.
