Laser has appointed Jo Fraser as national business manager, bringing more than 18 years of industry experience to the role.

She was most recently national account manager for Cellnet after spending more than a decade at Belkin. In her new role, Fraser will work closely with Harvey Norman and other key accounts to drive growth across Laser’s ever-growing product category, including its Connect Smart Home range.

Laser has also promoted long-serving national sales manager Ron Hilario to general manager of sales. A 12-year veteran of Laser, this internal promotion reflects new, increased management responsibilities for Hilario who will now manage a broader channel and larger internal team.

This comes as Laser adds newly created roles to its sourcing, quality assurance and compliance teams, including Liam O’Reilly, who will lead Laser’s China sourcing office after working at Crest for more than a decade. He will drive ongoing improvements in time-to-market by working closely on the ground with Laser’s key suppliers.

The company has also welcomed Melanie Kuhtic as marketing coordinator after starting her career at Sharp and strengthened its omnichannel support by appointing a dedicated resource to work closely with retailers to improve the online experience and deliver content for online listings.

Laser managing director, Chris Lau said these appointments show that the company is investing in all areas of the business to innovate, expand and ultimately deliver success.

“Jo’s reputation speaks for itself and we welcome her to the team, while we are also delighted to reward Ron’s hard work over many years with expanded responsibilities,” he said.

“Like every other company, we have faced unprecedented challenges as a result of the uncertainty surrounding the impact of COVID-19. It is testament to our staff, our robust supply chain and our investment in delivering affordable but high quality products in new growth categories that we are able to actually grow, expand, invest and ultimately add more jobs in this climate.”

The Laser Smart Home Range is one of several growth categories for the company, which broke new ground with a $10 connected light bulb for the first time, with a second-generation range launching soon.

Laser is now one of the biggest brands in smart home by volume and has ambitions to deliver an additional four-fold in growth from this new range and its channel investments.
