Kogan has welcomed 152,000 new active customers in the month of August – the largest monthly increase in the history of the business – with total active customers reaching 2.461 million at 31 August 2020.

Gross sales momentum is continuing, growing more than 117% year-on-year in August, following an increase of more than 110% in July. Gross profit was up more than 165%, following growth of 160% in July year-on-year. Adjusted EBITDA increased more than 466%.

Kogan said marketing costs in August reflected the largest monthly marketing investment in the history of the company.

In its full year results presentation last month, Kogan founder and CEO, Ruslan Kogan said more shoppers were embracing ecommerce with a record number of first-time customers making repeat purchases at a 40% faster pace than pre-COVID.

β€œFor us, this is a very exciting trend that shows once customers learn about shopping online, they change their ongoing behaviour,” Kogan said at the time.

Kogan will provide another update at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in November.
