Masters has today announced opening dates for four new Queensland stores as it ramps up its ambitious big box store rollout. The Woolworths venture, in partnership with US retailer Lowe’s, opened its first large-format, predominantly DIY store in Braybrook, Victoria, last month.

The first two Queensland stores will open on Tuesday 11 October 2011 in Springfield and Tingalpa. Masters’ Nerang store will open the next day (Wednesday 12 October 2012), followed by Morayfield on Wednesday 19 October 2011.

“We’re thrilled to be launching into Queensland with four stores in quick succession,” said Masters CEO Don Stallings. “It’s been a real challenge for the team but we’re extremely excited to finally be able to show the state’s home renovators and tradies exactly what Masters stands for: quality and service at the best possible price.”

Stallings revealed that both the Springfield and Nerang stores will included an in-house McDonald’s. Other notable features include kitchen appliances and accessories, 150 staff per store, self-service check-out and a drive through facility.

One thing Stallings is certain does not exist, however, is high prices.

“Our expert team of buyers has scoured the globe to source an unrivalled product range at unbeatable prices,” he said.

“Customers in Victoria have been blown away by the value on offer at Masters and we can’t wait to deliver that value to customers in Queensland as well.”
