JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys are the first retailers to support a new emeals initiative launched by digital recycling platform and product stewardship consultancy, Ecoactiv and social enterprise, PonyUp for Good.
The new initiative offers Australian households a convenient way to give their old belongings new life and create a social impact at the same time. Using Ecoactiv’s platform, consumers can have pre-loved electronics, appliances, IT devices, whitegoods and more, collected directly from their home and delivered to accredited, local recyclers for processing.
For every recycling booking, five meals will be donated to national food rescue organisation, SecondBite.
JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys will be offering this service as a value-add for their customers and to contribute to the end of food waste and e-waste landfill. They have set a collective target of donating one million meals to SecondBite.
To celebrate the launch and for a limited time only, Ecoactiv and PonyUp are offering free collections and recycling on most home computing devices and televisions.
