SYDNEY, NSW: Canon has come down with a winter virus. Not the cold and flu that has sidelined so many this week, but Scarlet Fever. In stores from Monday (6 June 2011), Canon is selling its EOS 1100D in a limited edition red kit.

There are only 2,000 units of this DSLR camera available, these kits will disappear just as quickly as Scarlet Fever when treated with penicillin.

On sale nationally at JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Bing Lee, Ted’s and Camera House, each kit comes with a numbered engraving, a certificate of authenticity and a custom-made aluminium travel case.

Here’s Canon Australia GM, sales and customer leadership, Bridie York.

“The limited-edition red camera has attracted a lot of attention pre-launch with its distinctive looks and, together with the bonus case and unique numbering, will be highly sought after by consumers in-store,” York said.

In the kit, which is RRP $1,199, consumers get the EOS 1100D body, two lenses and a red strap, in addition to the aforementioned special accessories.
