Keeping in line with gaming console price cuts across the Big Three, Xbox today slashed the RRP on its Xbox 360 and Kinect bundles, whilst also announcing a standalone Xbox 360 for only RRP $249.

In recent weeks, Sony has cut the price of the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo has drastically reduced the RRP on its 3DS handheld device.

From tomorrow (15 September 2011), the 4GB Xbox 360 with Kinect bundle will be RRP $399, while the 250GB Xbox with Kinect will be RRP $499.

For those that don’t need to Kinect, Xbox will next month (October 201) release a 4GB Xbox 360 for RRP $249. This pack will include the console, a wireless controller, built-in Wi-Fi and a one-month subscription to Xbox Live Gold Membership.

Here’s Microsoft Australia retail lead Andy Coughlin.

“With families gearing up for school holidays they will be looking for ways to keep the kids entertained, and Kinect offers something that parents and their kids can participate in together,” he said. “We are pleased to now offer Xbox 360 and Kinect bundles at new lower prices, meaning Kinect and Xbox have never been more affordable.”
