Samsung has showcased the company’s first OLED gaming monitor, the Odyssey OLED G8, available in an ultra-thin 34-inch form factor, at IFA in Berlin.

Delivering superior brightness on an OLED panel, partnered with Quantum Dot technology, the monitor delivers an extremely low 0.1ms response time, 175Hz refresh rate and AMD FreeSync Premium for smooth gameplay.

Measuring just 3.9mm at its thinnest part, the Odyssey OLED G8 is the slimmest in its class and finished with a sleek metal frame. The QHD resolution (3,440 x 1,440) monitor has a 21:9 aspect ratio with 100% colour volume and DCI-99.3% colour gamut with a 1800R curvature.

The Odyssey OLED G8 is VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certified ensuring content appears life-like with accurate colour and contrast reproduction.

In addition to gaming, the display operates as an entertainment hub with the ability to stream content through Samsung’s Smart Hub with access to platforms such as Amazon Prime, Netflix, YouTube and more. Users can also enjoy free live content made possible by Samsung TV Plus.

Availability in Australia is yet to be announced.

“Gaming has boomed during Covid and consumers are looking for ways to elevate their gaming experience. They want high refresh rates and colour saturation, and our curvature allows gamers to see more vision corner to corner,” Samsung Electronics vice president – consumer electronics, Jeremy Senior said.
