Sony Abel

With unique feature.

The best noise-cancelling headphones Sony has ever made, the MDR-1000X, will arrive in the Australian market in October, available in two colours, black and cream and will retail for $699.95. The headphones have two microphones built-in, one on the outside and one on the inside.

“We have responded to consumer feedback around noise-cancelling headphones, particularly with users having to take off their headphones when someone is talking to them, they are on a plane and the flight attendant comes to serve food or drinks, or listening to an announcement,” Sony head of video and sound, Abel Makhraz told Appliance Retailer.

“When users place their hand over the right ear-cup, the volume is automatically reduced, and ambient sound – including voices – can be heard without needing to shout or remove the headphones. When you take your hand away, music and noise-cancelling resumes,” he explained.
