The Good Guys has embarked on a sizeable campaign to encourage purchases of TVs and home theatre systems over the coming weeks, offering a trip to Hollywood as well as more than $250,000 worth of in-store credit as prizes.

The competition will promote products from Hisense, LG, Panasonic, Samsung and Sony and is open to Australian residents who purchase any TV, Home Theatre System, Blu-ray player/recorder or DVD player/recorder from these brands.

The first part of the competition, open to both Australian and New Zealand residents, offers a major prize including a family trip for four to Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles, as well as airfares and accommodation and a guided Studio tour, valued up to AUD $18,800.  

The second part of the competition offers Australians the chance to win a share in $250,000 worth of store credit to be spent at The Good Guys. This includes 200 vouchers worth $500, 200 vouchers worth $250, 500 vouchers worth $100 and 1000 vouchers for $50 store credit.

Runners up in Australia will have the chance to win 500 family passes to screenings of Despicable Me 2, while New Zealand residents can enter to win the major prize or one of 200 The Good Guys Store Credits worth $50.

The first part of the promotion runs from 21 May to 11 June 2013, while the second part runs from 11 June to 29 July. To enter, consumers need to complete an online entry form and validate their entry with the docket number from their purchase.

The total value of the prize pool open to Australian residents (including the holiday, store credits and movie passes) is AUD $304,800, while the New Zealand prize pool is NZ $10,000 (not including the holiday) — representing a total spend for the retailer in the order of AUD $313,191.
