A new national distribution centre is set to meet next day delivery targets.
Miele Australia has officially opened a new state-of-the-art National Distribution Centre at Keysborough in Victoria, featuring a four-star green performance rating.
L-R: Miele warehouse manager, Fernando Monge; Miele managing director, Sjaak Brouwer; Miele warehouse manager, Steward Ledu; Miele warehouse team leader, Tamer Dal; Miele operations director, Steven Bellamy.
Incorporating warehousing, distribution and service as well as a clearance outlet, the design of the 14,000 square metre Miele facility boasts sensor lighting, natural ventilation and water recovery systems.
Speaking at his first official engagement as managing director of Miele ANZ, Sjaak Brouwer was enthusiastic about the functionality and practicality of the new centre.
“This facility will enable us to most effectively and efficiently achieve our next day delivery promise as anticipated by our retailers and consumers alike.
“The inclusion of eight docks, each with dock levellers, ensures we can confidently handle an impressive increase in the volume of inbound containers and outbound orders, not just now but into the future.
“In consideration of Miele Australia’s current and forecasted growth in sales, we anticipate the new space will serve our warehousing needs for the coming years,” Brouwer said.
The new centre also houses Miele’s Service Workshop and Spare Parts Division and the Miele Planning and Victorian Field Service Teams have been relocated to the Keysborough facility.
In addition, a more expansively designed space has been allocated for the Retail Clearance Outlet, previously at the Miele Knoxfield Head Office.
