Fujifilm has launched its largest ever digital camera advertising campaign, with two advertisements that began airing over the weekend and will continue to play on free-to-air and pay TV channels for the next six weeks.

The 15- and 30-second ad spots – which were filmed on location in New Zealand – feature the compact FinePix F550EXR camera and the outdoor FinePix XP30, and form part of a larger international Fujifilm campaign.

“This is the largest advertising campaign we’ve ever implemented in Australia for our digital camera category,” said Fujifilm senior category manager – consumer and professional products, Matt Dole.

“This major initiative is indicative of our ongoing commitment to investment in the FUJIFILM brand. Throughout the six-week campaign the two TV commercials will be screened 2,500 times around Australia.

“The advertisements will feature on the 7 and 10 networks – including some of their digital channels – and also a number of Pay TV channels. They will also be streamed online on NineMSN and Yahoo7,” Dole said.

In addition to this video content, the campaign will be supported by magazine titles and “comprehensive point-of-sale materials distributed to more than 400 retail stores” according to Dole.

“The FinePix XP30 advertisements will be featured during outdoor related programs and will be targeted at the young and adventurous. The FinePix F550EXR – which has built-in GPS functionality – will focus on travel related programs.”

Some of the young/adventurous/travel-based shows to feature the advertisements will be The Amazing Race, MythBusters and the post-apocalyptic-time-travel-dinosaur-crossover hit, Terra Nova.
