The Sanyo Panthers, Panthers World of Entertainment, the Krispy Kremes at Panthers and Panthers Aquagolf. And now an iPanther. The good people at the foot of the Mountains, in Penrith in western Sydney, are getting an Apple Store.

Located at Shop 288-291 in the Westfield on High Street, Penrith, the new Apple Retail Store will open at 9am this Saturday (23 July 2011).

Here is a supplied quote from Apple that tells us virtually nothing about the new store:

“The Apple Store is the best place to learn about all the latest products from Apple including iPad 2, featuring an entirely new design that is 33 per cent thinner and up to 15 per cent lighter than the original iPad, and iPhone 4, the most innovative phone in the world.”

This new Store will put Apple head-to-head with two of its high street dealer partners: JB Hi-Fi and Dick Smith Electronics.

A spokesperson from the Dick Smith store at Westfield Penrith said he wasn’t overly concerned by the competition, as the Apple Store will sell at RRP and his outlet sells what little Apple stock they carry below RRP. He also said this store would attract consumers to the complex, meaning there was the possibility of increased foot traffic.
