SYDNEY, NSW: Sunbeam is relishing its exposure on Channel Ten’s third series of MasterChef, after Monday night’s Pressure Test episode attracted the highest audience of the season with 1.9 million viewers.

“MasterChef is consistently providing a vehicle for us to showcase our products in a practical environment with a highly engaged audience,” said Nicole Cowley, product marketing manager food preparation & cooking.

“We are pleased to see that after three seasons of MasterChef, Australians still love the show. As the contestant’s journeys continue, we anticipate increased interest in creating fabulous dishes at home using our products,” Cowley said.

The episode was headlined by British molecular gastronomist, Heston Blumenthal, and featured three appliances from the Sunbeam range – the Sunbeam MultiMincer (FG5600), Café Series Mixmaster (MX8900) and Café Series Blender (PB9500).

Sunbeam is building on the exposure offered by their sponsorship of the show with advertising and MasterChef specific POS and in-store promotions. “As interesting challenges drive consumers to tackle recipes featured on the smash hit show, sponsors such as Sunbeam are enjoying the benefits at store level," a Sunbeam spokesperson said.

In other Sunbeam news, the appliance company is currently on tour with the Good Food & Wine Show, which opened at the start of June in Melbourne, and will continue in other capital cities throughout 2011.

Discussing the successes of the show was Sunbeam’s assistant product manager for beverage and toaster products, Meagan Curry.

“We were very pleased with what we achieved at the Melbourne Good Food & Wine Show and we look forward to success at the Sydney and Brisbane shows in the coming months,” Curry said.

“The Sunbeam Academy allows the unique opportunity to provide a tangible consumer experience with Sunbeam products, demonstrating their performance attributes, accessibility ease of use and the excellent results they can achieve.

“Participant feedback was extremely positive across the board.  Sunbeam Academy attendees expressed appreciation for the opportunity to have personal, hands on attention from Sunbeam’s Home Economist and their two accredited Sunbeam Coffee School Baristas.”

The Good Food & Wine Show is due in Sydney from 1 – 3 July.
