After nine years of leading Gibson Innovations (formerly Philips’ Home Entertainment), Wiebo Vaartjes will step down from his role as CEO, effective immediately. He will continue in a transitional role as a consultant with the company through the end of the year, as Gibson Brands CEO Henry Juszkiewicz, assumes all responsibilities associated with the role on an interim basis.
“We are excited about the opportunities with Gibson Innovations and are moving swiftly to create a high performance organisation optimised for growth and more responsive to the needs and dynamics of modern consumers,” Juszkiewicz said.
“Since we acquired Gibson Innovations in mid-2014, I have had the opportunity to work closely with Wiebo and would like to thank him for spearheading the transition of the business from Philips to Gibson Brands,” he added.
Starting at Philips in 1985, Wiebo joined the CE division in 1989 and held several roles across Europe and Asia. He led the business since 2006 and has played a key role in driving the Philips brand in consumer electronics in that time.
