UnderCurrent intercepted a cautionary tale for retailers and consumers of whitegoods this week. After conducting some research (though clearly not enough), a rival hack bought in dream French Door Fridge by a Well Known Brand for around $3,500. The transaction was completed at a Well Known Retailer in Castle Hill, northwest Sydney, with delivery received shortly afterwards.

Unfortunately for this tech scribe, he hadn’t done his measurements, and this monument to modern kitchen appliances has been sitting on his front lawn for a week now, as it can’t fit through his door frame.

The lesson from this story is clear: consumers need to not only measure their kitchen cavities before purchase, but also their points of access. At least the box is providing some free advertising for motorists in this leafy, well-heeled suburb.
