Consumers are concerned about energy efficiency

The Canstar Blue survey found energy efficiency is critical when it comes to buying an air conditioner as close to half the respondents said energy efficiency is the most important factor when they choose an air conditioner. The survey also found that air conditioning costs equate to roughly 24 per cent of surveyed consumers’ total electricity spend – making the search for an efficient model even more important.

Some of Fujitsu General’s air conditioners have features which help cut down on power usage including a sensor which switches the machine to low power mode if it cannot detect anyone in the room, plus other models come with high tech condensers and ‘power diffusers’ which also help cut down on energy usage.

The outcomes reported in the survey come from 587 Australians surveyed who purchased an air conditioner in the last two years (originally, 3,000 Australians were surveyed).  Each brand must have received at least 30 responses in order to be included. Brands receiving three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10 and not all brands available in the market have been compared in this survey.
