A space for designers, architects and specifiers.
Fisher & Paykel invited a select group of retailers and media to a sneak peek of its lavish new Experience Centre in Alexandria, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. The Centre has been designed to offer a seamless experience in which customers and designers can interact with appliances in an immersive environment, according to general manager of design integration, Mark Elmore.

“We believe collaboration is at the heart of great kitchen design. That’s why we have created the Experience Centre,” he said.
A collaborative partnership between Fisher & Paykel, Alt Group, Fearon Hay and Satellite Media, the Centre took over 18 months to design and build.
Jeff Fearon from Fearon Hay, said the Centre was designed to the capture the essence of Fisher & Paykel’s design philosophy.
“Our ideas centred on creating a system for the relationship and flow of space that is social, engages with design and draws on the power of natural materials. The centre enables direct experience with the products created by Fisher & Paykel and focuses on the highest level of design while creating the opportunity for engagement,” Hay explained.
A key selection of Fisher & Paykel and DCS Grill Outdoor products are displayed in a curated layout set to motivate trial. A combination of product layouts as they would appear in the home, and interactive technology that provides additional product information, gives customers a hands-on, educational experience.
Designers and retailers can visit the Experience Centre with their customers, or direct customers to book with a product design expert or cooking specialist to ensure their selected products best suit both the design intent as well as their lifestyle. The design community is also encouraged to host meetings in the centre.
“Fisher & Paykel’s goal is to be the number one premium appliance brand globally, and in order to do so, we must be synonymous with the kitchen. The concept of the Experience Centre was born out of an intimate understanding of our customers and their various lifestyle needs. We have a desire to inspire,” Elmore concluded.
