Australian retail turnover was relatively unchanged in July, (0.0%), seasonally adjusted, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. This follows a rise of 0.1% in June. Trading in department stores took the biggest hit, down 6.2% while household goods retailing fell slightly by 0.7%.
Online retail turnover contributed 3.1% to total retail turnover in original terms. Compared to July 2015, online retail rose 4.1%.
In seasonally adjusted terms, all states except Victoria and New South Wales recorded slight rises.
