With the ongoing success of the Masters Home Improvement chain in Australia, UnderCurrent thinks it would only be natural for the retailer to look at expanding. Masters is certainly growing in Australia — with a current network of 29 stores and more stores planned — but what about New Zealand?
Masters currently delivers to New Zealand and has a customer service team set up to handle queries from the Kiwis, but there are no stores open across the ditch.
On the face of it, New Zealand isn’t in Woolworths’ sights just yet. A spokesperson from the company told Current.com.au, “We’ve got no plans at the moment for a physical presence in New Zealand”.
That said, Woolies might want to think about getting in soon before someone else gets a monopoly on the hardware market in New Zealand.
The ‘Masters Home Improvement Limited’ business name is already registered with the New Zealand Companies office, with its registered office listed as 78 Carbine Road, Mount Wellington, Auckland.
So who’s currently in the supposed head office of 'Masters Home Improvement' in New Zealand?
Hopefully Masters' number one competitor is looking after everything over the Tasman.
