SYDNEY, NSW: TEAC has last night launched its new Sound Bar home theatre speaker system,

Targeted at consumers who want “to recreate a movie theatre experience without compromising on valuable space,” the SB04T Sound Bar has a long and slender profile that “eliminates the need for multiple speakers” according to a TEAC spokesperson.

The minimalist silver and charcoal unit features 2.1 channel sound and two in-built speakers  with a power output of 8 watts each. In addition, to create a unit that performs in the same manner as a whole speaker system, the Sound Bar also features a built-in subwoofer that offers 15 watts of powerful bass.

With the included remote control, the TEAC Sound Bar is RRP $99.99.

In other TEAC news, the AV manufacturer has announced the continuation of its brand embassador and endorsement agreement with Ford Performance Racing V8 Supercar Driver Mark “Frosty” Winterbottom.

Winterbottom began the role in 2010, with a series of high-profile print and television advertisements for TEAC.

TEAC Australia Marketing and Communications Manager, Peter Burnham, is happy with the company’s continuing relationship with the champion driver.

“Mark appeals to the exact demographics that we are targeting with our advertising and point of sale marketing,” said Burnham. “He has a trusting and personable nature that comes through on television and is also an avid user of our products, so when he talks about them he can speak from personal experience.

“We are delighted to have Mark on board in 2011 and plan to produce an updated TVC featuring ‘Frosty’ who also has great appeal amongst our retail partners and their customers. In a marketplace as competitive as ours is, every advantage is important,” he said.
