SYDNEY, NSW: The Sangean DCR-200+ includes a few peculiar features such as a downward firing speaker to distribute sound 360 degrees, a message recording function for when one lacks a pen and paper in moments of flash inspiration, and a countdown timer of up to 120 minutes that the company said would be useful for dinner preparations.

The device also features more commonplace functions such as 28 station memories, an auto tune feature, an LCD display with an adjustable backlight, and an alarm with tuner.

It is a portable radio that Robert Costello, general manager of marketing and sales at Canohm who distributes Sangean, said is suitable all around the house.

“If listening to the radio is a big part of your day, the Sangean DCR-200+ digital clock radio is portable enough to transfer room to room, from the bedroom when you wake up in the morning, to the lounge room or kitchen during the day, then back to the bedroom to set your alarm for the next day,” said Costello.
