Consumer electronics distributor Convoy International is now the sole Australian distributor of JBL's consumer range of audio products after picking up distribution rights for the JBL Synthesis Range of high-end home theatre systems.

JBL parent company Harman International appointed Convoy, with the new arrangement taking effect this month, meaning Convoy is now responsible for the full suite of JBL consumer products, including home theatre, multimedia and car audio products.

Speaking about the new deal was Convoy International CEO Geoff Matthews.

“Having already enjoyed a long and successful relationship as the Australian distributor for the harman/kardon Home and JBL Home, Multimedia and Car Speaker range, we are delighted to extend our partnership with Harman International,” said Matthews.

“As sole distributors of the JBL Synthesis Range, this now brings the entire range of JBL consumer electronics under our care. We now look forward to delivering the same exceptional service and results for the home theatre range.”

National sales manager Gary Tye, who will be responsible for the JBL Synthesis Range, said the new distribution arrangement was a win for consumers.

“Increasingly our brands are developing products which specifically address the needs of consumers, from budget to luxury home theatre systems, and we now intend to be there for every customer,” he said.

“By expanding our product range and offering new speaker solutions to our reseller network, we hope to enrich the opportunities for our business partners and further develop our expertise in this growing category.”
