Today UnderCurrent looked to the ‘What will those crazy Americans think of next’ file for appliance news, and we weren’t disappointed.
Vermont-based portioned coffee company Green Mountain Coffee Roasters announced a partnership with Campbell Soup Company to bring portioned soup packets to Keurig pod coffee machines in the US.
Keurig is the creator of the K-Cup single brewing system which uses individual pod-style “K-Cups” to brew coffee, tea, iced tea and other drinks. UnderCurrent’s particular favourites are the Original Donut Shop coffee flavour and Kahlua coffee.
The new system isn’t just about dispensing chicken-flavoured water instead of coffee – the K-Cup is supplied with a dried pasta and vegetable sachet providing consumers “with a flavorful, convenient soup that fits their lives today” according to Campbell Soup.
Might UnderCurrent humbly suggest that other companies get on board this trend too? We’ve always wanted to try a Pea and Ham Macchiato.
