Sunbeam has officially kicked off its new partnership with MasterChef this afternoon, with a launch event held at the MasterChef Kitchen in Sydney.

“Sunbeam is thrilled to be involved with Network 10 and the hugely successful MasterChef. MasterChef is an amazing success story and has changed television viewing in Australia. It has definitely captured the nation’s passion for cooking,” said Sunbeam CEO David Jackson.

“Our partnership involves being the official supplier for all small appliances. Sunbeam products will feature in the pressure test and invention test right through the series, not to mention on the MasterChef website and in our new consumer promotion.”

To celebrate the announcement Sunbeam held a launch event at the MasterChef Kitchen in Alexandria. Justin North, executive chef at Becasse restaurant in Sydney, was on hand throughout the day to show off some of his culinary expertise on Sunbeam’s product portfolio.

North created two exquisite dishes throughout the event. For the main course he made slow roasted ocean trout with pea puree and smoked bacon veloute. Dessert was a raspberry frangipane tart with raspberry sorbet and crème Chantilly. All of which were prepared using Sunbeam appliances.

Jackson said that a new Sunbeam brand campaign will be launched concurrently with the start of the new season of MasterChef.

“We will be launching a new brand campaign that kicks off at the start of MasterChef season two in April,” he said.

“The new campaign nods to our past heritage but clearly looks to the future. Stay tuned to the first week of MasterChef.”
