LG Electronics has launched the ‘xboom by will.i.am’ collection – a new lineup of Bluetooth speakers and earbuds developed in collaboration with music icon and tech entrepreneur, will.i.am.
Following the partnership announcement in December, LG appointed will.i.am as the experiential architect of the LG xboom brand, a move designed to redefine the brand as culture-forward while still delivering optimal sound, aesthetics and performance.
Each product in the xboom by will.i.am range is professionally tuned by will.i.am and delivers the xboom signature sound, characterised by a more balanced audio profile with warmer tones. The product design is compact and embodies will.i.am’s creative stamp stemming from his life-long experience in pop culture.
AI-powered features
The xboom by will.i.am lineup features a family of smart Bluetooth speakers – the xboom Bounce, Grab, and Stage 301 powered by AI technology. The AI Sound feature analyses the audio being played and automatically adjusts sound profiles to highlight different aspects such as melody, rhythm, or vocals. AI Lighting synchronises the speaker’s bar lights with the music and AI Calibration allows speakers to recognise their surroundings to fill various indoor or outdoor spaces. A first for the brand, xboom speakers feature a dedicated button that connects users to will.i.am’s RAiDiO.FYI platform, offering AI-curated infotainment content.
The LE Audio Auracast feature connects multiple xboom units for a synchronised audio output.
The xboom speaker family
The xboom Bounce, Grab, and Stage 301 Bluetooth speakers represent the flagship models of the new range with each tailored for a specific use.
With its built-in, up-bouncing passive radiators, dual dome tweeters and track-type woofer, the xboom Bounce (above) delivers high-frequency stereo with precise highs and an expanded soundstage for enhanced clarity and depth. The name Bounce comes from its up-bouncing passive radiators that visibly bounce and light up in time with the music.
With a water and dust resistance IP67 rating, and Military Standard 810G durability, the Bounce’s built-in battery lasts up to 30 hours.
The compact, travel-friendly xboom Grab speaker is equipped with dual passive radiators for deep bass, an IP67 water and dust resistance rating and military-grade durability. The Grab also boasts a 20-hour battery life and can be secured with versatile straps for easy carrying or mounting.
Designed for larger gatherings, the xboom Stage 301 excels in filling big spaces with big sound. With a 6.5-inch woofer and dual midrange drivers, this speaker is ideal for events such as karaoke, busking, and outdoor parties. Its built-in handle and flexible wedge design make it easy to carry and position. The Stage 301 also features IPX4 water resistance and a replaceable battery for up to 11 hours of uninterrupted sound.
The xboom by will.i.am range also includes the xboom Buds, featuring graphene drivers for pure, well-balanced sound and deep bass. These lightweight buds incorporate LG’s Active Noise Cancelling technology for an immersive listening experience. The Buds support LE Audio Auracast, allowing multiple devices to connect to the same audio stream simultaneously and have a comfortable, ergonomic design with up to 30 hours of listening time.
