SYDNEY, NSW: Retravision Southern is this Sunday (5 June 2011) hosting the Victorian Government for the launch of the state’s new gas heater rebate scheme.

Open to holders of Victorian concession cards from 4 July 2011, the scheme offers a $700 to low-income earning Victorians who purchase and install a 4-star minimum gas heater.

Hosting the event is Retravision Maribyrnong, which is located near the booming Highpoint shopping centre. Store manager Mark Caval said this was good for both consumers and the Retravision store network.

“It’s good to be part of this rebate program helping people switch to more energy and cost efficient gas heaters,” he said. “Having the $700 discount up front, plus the fact that we sell the gas heaters and organise their installation, makes it easier for the customer, which is good for everyone.”

Robyn Roberts, the CEO of Good Shepherd Youth and Family Service, said this scheme was important for low income earners.

“This new rebate is great news for Victorian families doing it tough this winter,” she said. “The upfront discount will not only make it more affordable for them to buy an energy efficient gas heater but also help them save on their household bills over time.”

The scheme will be officially launched by the Victorian Minister for Environment and Climate Change Ryan Smith.
