Bunnings general property manager Andrew Marks said the proposal, if approved, would create about 250 construction jobs and up to 180 retail positions. Although he said it was too early to comment on when the company hoped to begin construction or when the store would open.

“If approved, the new Bunnings Warehouse development would represent an investment of over $48 million for the land, construction, fitout and stock,” Marks said.

Bunnings’ application followed the closure of a nearby Home Timber & Hardware store in July and comes almost two years after Woolworths abandoned its plan to build a Masters hardware store in the suburb.
