The winners of the 2020 Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands survey have been crowned, naming Australia’s most trusted brands across more than 70 consumer categories. The annual independent survey, now in its 21st year, polled more than 3,000 people to name the most trusted brands.

Bunnings was crowned the winner in the retail (excluding supermarkets) category, with Kmart and JB Hi-Fi named as ‘highly commended’.

Bunnings managing director, Mike Schneider said the hardware giant is very humbled to have won this accolade for the 15th consecutive year. “We believe the best way to gauge our service is to let our customers speak for how well we are doing and as this is a well-respected annual and independent survey, it is a credit to our team, who provide customers with friendly and helpful service every day. We are also grateful for the support of the communities where our stores operate.”

De’Longhi was recognised as the most trusted in the coffee machine category with Breville and Lavazza receiving ‘highly commended’ accolades, while Kenwood was a ‘highly commended’ brand alongside Sunbeam in the small kitchen appliance category, won by Breville.

De’Longhi CEO, Paolo Albertoni said the group was thrilled to see two of its brands recognised in their respective categories for the 2020 Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands survey. “Here in Australia, we are all very proud of the products we represent across the De’Longhi portfolio, so it is an honour to know that our consumers love and trust our products as much as we do.”

Commenting on Breville’s accolade, general manager for Australia and New Zealand, Mark O’Kelly said the company is delighted to be acknowledged as Australia’s most trusted small kitchen appliance brand in the 2020 Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands survey. “As an Australian company with over 80 years in design and innovation history, we are proud to continue helping Australians do things more impressively or easily than they’d thought possible in their own kitchens. We would also like to acknowledge and thank our retailers for their invaluable partnership.”

Meanwhile, Fujitsu General was voted Reader’s Digest Most Trusted air conditioning brand for the third consecutive year, with Daikin and Samsung as ‘highly commended’ brands.

Fujitsu General sales and marketing general manager, Dave Smith said, “To receive this acknowledgement for three years in a row reinforces the brand’s continued efforts to deliver high quality, energy efficient, reliable products as well as exceptional customer service. Research shows that when consumers are shopping for an air conditioning system, they take many things into consideration including warranty, energy efficiency, price, quality and brand reputation. The Most Trusted Brand awards provides consumers with even more confidence in their decision to buy a Fujitsu General air conditioner.”
