Breville Group has announced the appointment of Tuula Rytilä as an independent non-executive director, effective 1 April 2023.

This appointment follows the previously announced external process to identify an additional independent director as part of the Breville board’s evolution to support the group’s geographic and product portfolio expansion.

Rytilä is an accomplished senior executive with 30 years of experience across the consumer technology and product sector in technologies, digitisation and product management. She brings an international perspective having worked across Europe, North America, Asia and Africa.

She has worked for Microsoft for the last nine years with global responsibility for Microsoft Digital Stores. She also worked at Nokia for 15 years, climbing the ranks to global chief marketing officer.

Rytilä is currently a non-executive director of Bang & Olufsen and serves as a member of the board of trustees of the National Nordic Museum. She is currently based in the United States and divides her time between the US and Europe.

Breville chairman, Tim Antoine said, “We are delighted Tuula has accepted our invitation to join the board. Breville is now a truly international company and in recent years, Jim Clayton and the executive team have revolutionised the company, including its global digital ecosystem and go-to-market capability. Tuula’s skills and experience provide timely to support management and govern the company’s future direction.”
