The thoughtful product design of Breville’s Oracle (BES980) and Smart Waffle Pro (BWM640) has been praised internationally, with both appliances earning a 2015 iF Design Award.

The international design competition attracted 4,783 entries from 2,102 participants based in 53 countries. The winners were chosen by a jury comprised of international experts who convened in Hamburg in late January.

“An iF Design Award for the Oracle espresso machine and Smart Waffle Pro is yet another recognition for these unique world class products,” said Richard Hoare, Breville’s design and innovation director.

“Our food thinkers philosophy is such an integral part of the design process. Without the insight from consumers about how they use products in the home and what they really want from a small appliance, our products could just be ‘me too’. Awards, such as the prestigious iF Design Award, demonstrate to the international market that Breville is a designer and manufacturer of truly unique, purpose built products.

“Breville has an outstanding, world-class design and engineering team and these design awards take the tally to more than 40. The letter of acknowledgement from iF Design Award stated ‘those who have succeeded in wowing the international expert jury can truly be proud of this superb result’ – and we certainly are,” said Hoare.

The jury decided 1,629 entries had earnt the iF label and 75 entries were honored with the coveted iF gold award. The winners of the iF Design Award 2015 have been determined and Appliance Retailer has requested a full list of winners who will be recognised at an award ceremony in Munich, Germany on 27 February 2015.
