Toshiba has today announced the impending release of a new 7-inch Android tablet, called the Toshiba Tablet (AT1S0).

Due for release at the end of October, the AT1S0 has a 1,200×800 HD touchscreen, MicroUSB, Micro HDMI and Micro SD card slot on the outside and an Nvidia Tegra 2 processor powering Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) on the inside.

“Combining its connectivity capabilities, premium audio and the latest Android experience, the Toshiba Tablet is a great choice for on-the-go consumers looking for a no-compromise tablet,” said Toshiba product marketing manager Justin White.

Connectivity is provided by “convenient” Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but the true convenience of 3G is absent.

There’s also a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash for images and video and a 2-megapixel front facing camera for video chat.

The AT1S0 has a quoted weight of 399 grams. It is set to retail for RRP $449.

The new Toshiba 7-inch Tablet will be out by the end of October.
