Big W managing director, Pejman Okhovat will be leaving the Woolworths Group to pursue a new leadership opportunity running ASX-listed company, G8 Education, effective December 2022.

Okhovat joined Woolworths Group in April 2021 from New Zealand.

“Pejman has made the decision to leave Big W and Woolworths Group but has committed to staying with the business until the important Christmas trading period,” Woolworths Group CEO, Brad Banducci said in a statement shared with Appliance Retailer.

“We’d like to thank Pejman for his role in helping lead our purpose-led team in navigating through Covid and periods of floods which have been significantly challenging to our communities and to Big W’s ability to trade.

“As a team, we have co-created a robust transformation program for the next three to five years for Big W and we remain focused on delivering our strategy moving forward.”

Big W managing director for B2B and everyday needs, Claire Peters will support the Big W leadership team while a search for Okhovat’s replacement is underway.
