Bi-Rite Home Appliances has confirmed a strong final quarter of sales including Black Friday and Christmas.
“We experienced strong market conditions, particularly within the technology and IT sectors with televisions standing out as a key performer,” Bi-Rite Home Appliances COO Hamza Hussein told Appliance Retailer.
“Given the prevailing uncertainty and a generally flat market, we were pleasantly surprised by the strong performance in November and December. The demand in tech, especially for televisions, exceeded our expectations during this period,” he said.
“The Black Friday sales period was by far our best performance to date. While we had forecasted growth across most categories, we were pleasantly surprised to see double-digit growth in nearly all of them, exceeding our expectations compared to the previous year.
“The Christmas sales period was strong, though we saw minimal growth compared to the previous year. It’s clear that Black Friday has absorbed a portion of the traditional Christmas shopping, as consumers continue to become more savvy in their shopping habits and take advantage of earlier discounts.
“Continued market pressure and cost of living pressures are likely to impact consumer spending, but we remain confident about the outlook for 2025. Should we see a rate drop in the near future, we are hopeful that it will boost consumer sentiment and, in turn, retail spending.”
Bi-Rite has over 65 store locations and has been operating for over 25 years with stores in every state and territory apart from Tasmania and Western Australia.
