Beko Australia has reaffirmed its commitment to community-driven initiatives by sponsoring the Dos Amigos team in the 2025 Spring Shitbox Rally, one of Australia’s largest independent fundraisers for Cancer Council.

The Shitbox Rally challenges participants to drive vehicles valued at $1,500 or less across some of the country’s most rugged terrain.
Since its inception in 2010, the event has raised more than $56 million for cancer research, with a goal of reaching $100 million by 2030.
This year’s Spring Rally will span seven days, taking participants from Alice Springs, NT to the Gold Coast, QLD. The route passes through remote regional communities, many of which are home to Beko’s retail partners. Each overnight stop is estimated to inject around $80,000 into the local economy.
“Cancer has impacted our families, friends, colleagues, and loved ones. Supporting Dos Amigos in their rally journey is just one of the ways we can contribute to change, raising money, awareness, and most importantly, hope,” said Amanda Hart, Marketing Manager at Beko.
The partnership also holds special significance for Beko, as one of the Dos Amigos team members, Dan Pittman, is a former Beko employee. With the rally’s final destination near Beko’s support office in Ormeau, QLD, this year’s event feels particularly close to home.
In the lead-up to the rally, Beko employees joined the Dos Amigos Trivia Night Fundraiser on June 16, helping raise over $2,000.
Team Beko, including Amanda Hart and Trade Marketing Manager Kym Thornton, along with Thornton’s family, won the trivia competition on the night. Queensland Territory Manager Glen Winterbottom also attended with his own team.
In 2024, Dos Amigos raised $27,475 for cancer research. For 2025, the team has set an increased fundraising goal of $35,000.
Other supporting sponsors include Bi-Rite Home Appliances, Axima Logistics, Allied Express, OMF, Iconic Recruit, Reload Media, and Shoreline Locksmith.
Beko said it plans to continue supporting fundraising events across the Gold Coast throughout June, July, and August, as part of its ongoing partnership with Dos Amigos and its broader commitment to community engagement and cancer research.
