Miele has one floorcare product left in the mix: the cordless Hybrid cleaner launched earlier this year. Electrolux Floor Care has three of its units vying for recognition: the UltraActive, the UltraSilencer Green and the Ergorapido Plus. Dyson, which picked up a gong last year for the Air Multiplier, has two finalists: the Digital Slim and the City.

The Design Awards will be presented in Melbourne on 22 July 2011.

The Electrolux Ultra Silencer Green. A source from the local office called this unit "the best looking vacuum cleaner ever".

The Miele Hybrid, which can be used cordlessly or with mains power.

Dyson DC26 Hepa is one of two finalists for the English floorcare maestros.
