How Myer plans to revive its mojo

Myer is investing $600 million in the New Myer strategy, which is expected to deliver improved productivity, a re-energised range, in-store experience and market-leading omni-channel capability through relevant categories, wanted brands and locally tailored offers. The department store predicts the strategy will produce sales growth greater than 3% between 2016 and 2020.

New stores, online growth drive Myer sales

New stores and refurbishments, along with an impressive online growth rate of 80% during FY15 were to thank for Myer’s 1.7% increase in total sales to $3.2 billion. The ‘click and collect’ business grew by 183% and sales on iPads in stores reached $20 million in the first 11 months, according to a company statement on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).

Aussie track star teams up with Philips

Australian hurdler Michelle Jenneke has partnered with Gibson Innovations to become the ambassador for the Philips ActionFit range of headphones. The partnership will see Jenneke wearing, using and promoting the headphones through a variety of marketing initiatives.

Glen Dimplex reassumes Nobo distribution

Glen Dimplex, global owner of the Nobo brand, will reassume distribution of all Nobo branded products from October 1, 2015. Canstar says Good Guys deserve five stars

For the fifth year in a row, The Good Guys was the only electronic retailer to receive a five-star rating for overall customer satisfaction in a recent Canstar Blue survey based on price and service, among other factors. Bing Lee followed closely behind in second place, while Harvey Norman snatched up third position, as JB Hi-Fi and Dick Smith lagged in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
