Samsung has today announced the release of three new models to its Series 9 range of notebooks. This range was a recent winner at the 2011 Australian International Design Awards.

 “The Notebook Series 9 marked Samsung’s successful entry into the premium performance notebook category and we are excited to now be able to offer more options with the introduction of these new models,” said Samsung head of IT Emmanuele Silanesu. “Consumers can now tailor their Samsung Series 9 Notebook purchase to their performance needs and budget, without having to compromise on style or design.”

In a perfect good/better/best product release, the three new models have the three main consumer processors from Intel: i3, i5 and i7, making for a good upsell story for retailers.

The i3 model (NP900X1B-A01AU, RRP $1,499) has 4GB of memory, a 64GB solid state drive and an 11.6-inch LED LCD screen.

The i5 model (NP900X3A-B02AU, RRP $2,299) has 13.3-inch LED LCD screen, 4GB of memory and a 256GB solid state drive.

The i7 model (NP900X3A-A03AU, RRP $2,799) has 8GB of memory, a 256GB solid state drive and a 13.3-inch LED LCD.

All three models have a 1.3-megapixel webcam, one USB 3.0 slot and one USB 2.0 slot, MicroHDMI, MicroSD and Bluetooth 3.0.
