Arlo Technologies has released its new Power over Ethernet (PoE) Adapter in Australia and New Zealand.

The Power over Ethernet (PoE) Adapter (VMA3900-10000s) is designed to provide continuous power and internet connectivity to compatible Arlo devices, expanding installation flexibility and reliability for users seeking uninterrupted smart home security.

The PoE Adapter supports the Arlo Essential Outdoor Camera (2nd Generation), Essential XL Outdoor Camera (2nd Generation), and Essential Indoor Camera (2nd Generation).

Priced at A$59 in Australia and NZ$69 in New Zealand, the accessory enables users to connect their Arlo cameras directly to a PoE switch or injector for sustained power and internet, bypassing the need for Wi-Fi and battery recharging.

Arlo states that the PoE Adapter offers faster streaming performance than direct-to-access-point connections, enhancing real-time monitoring and video clarity.

It features a plug-and-play setup, requiring only a connection between the camera, adapter, and a PoE switch or injector to begin operation. The setup process is designed to be completed within minutes.

The adapter package includes one PoE adapter, a 3-meter USB-C IP65-rated cable, a quick start guide, and an adhesive strip.

Technical specifications list an IEEE802.3af input range of 37–57V, with a maximum input current of 0.35A and output of 5V/2A (12.95W). It features an RJ45 input port and USB-C output connector.

The unit is IP65 rated for weather resistance, including the connector when inserted, and can operate in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 50°C.

The Arlo PoE Adapter is available now through the Arlo website and major retail outlets in both countries.
